Treasury bills
These are government securities issued for periods of 91 days, 182 days and 365 days (3, 6 and 12 months respectively).

Interest on these securities is paid at maturity with principal
Treasury bonds
These are government securities with the longest maturity ranging from periods of 2, 3, 5, 10 and 15 years.

Interest on these securities is paid semi-annually and the principal at maturity.
